Civcon completed works at Newman College, which involved the undergrounding of the existing Water Corporation open drain. The purpose of the project was to create additional real estate as part of Newman College’s Master Plan Expansion Project. Completion of the works has successfully created space for the expansion of the school campus. It has also allowed for the physical connection between the primary and secondary campuses.

Civcon’s specific scope of works included:

  • Removal of stripped grass and unsuitable material.

  • Bunding construction and dewatering of the work area, including set up of the bipass pump to ensure the existing drain remained functional during construction.

  • Excavation of the drainage area.

  • Installation of 270m x DN1500 concrete drainage pipe.

  • Installation of 270m x DN300 PVC slotted subsoil drainage pipe and flushing points.

  • Installation of DN2250 pre-cast concrete pits.

  • Backfill and grading of the completed areas.

  • Installation of the inlet and outfall structures.

  • Hard and soft reinstatement activities.
